My new 3D printed mouthpiece

Sax players are preoccupied with mouthpieces. It is a constant search for the mouthpiece which enables one to get that elusive, personal, ideal sound the player has in his or her head.

Now I am working on my soprano sax with a new 3D printed mouthpiece from SYOS. Their system works like this. You provide them with information about your ideal sound. They send you the first iteration of the 3D printed mouthpiece they think will work for you. If the sound is not right you tell them how you want to change it and they print and send you another iteration until you achieve the sound you want.

Great idea. Let’s see if it works out. So far I am trying the first iteration. It is promising but not yet right and I await the second iteration.
