Experience the JetStream without going to the Stratosphere

Hi Friends

Please come to this stratospheric performance on Saturday October 10th. We need people to buy advance tickets so the organisers know we have an audience.
On Saturday October 10th, we will be playing JetStream at Cromford Mills’ Gothic Warehouse.
The music is great – see the reviews below, and we recently released it on a double CD.
Cromford Mills is an atmospheric location, part of the World Heritage Site. There is a bar and Wheatcroft’s Wharf Cafe is open for meals and snacks before the show.

This is the last gig on our current tour of JetStream so please support us and don’t miss a treat.
Details are below.
Hope you can make it.
Steve

Steve’s gigs

Hello friendsHere is some information on my next few gigs.

Jet Collective played a great gig last night in Stamford, where we performed our climate inspired collection called “JetStream” in a very cool atmospheric club called Mama Liz’s. There is another opportunity to hear this played in Cromford on 10th October – details below.

Thursday 17th September 2015 from 8 pm – back to our regular slot after a summer break – Jazz at The Druid Pub in Birchover, Derbyshire. 01629 653836
Entry is free to hear me on saxophone with two wonderful musicians – Graham Jones on double bass and Pete Moxley on piano. How lucky I am to play with these guys. We are half way through what promises to be a nice CD recording.
It’s a great pub with excellent beer and a fantastic reputation for their food. Worth booking if you want to eat.

Saturday 26th September 2015 from 7.30 pm – I’m back at what has become one of our favourite musical haunts – The Green Man Gallery, Hardwick Hall, Buxton. 01298 937375
https://www.facebook.com/events/132151057126137/
This is a fantastic space with interesting art and a regular arty audience who are attentive and appreciative.
I’ll be in the company of two brilliant musicians – Matt Ratcliffe on keyboard and Graham Jones on double bass and we’ll play some cool jazz – some standards and some not in the usual jazz repertoire.
I can’t wait and I hope you can make it.

Friday 2nd October 2015. Foolow, Derbyshire (full details to follow.) A rare opportunity to see the acclaimed play “You might as well live.” Written by David Frederickson and starring Sue Daniel, both of Cotton Grass Theatre, it’s the story of Dorothy Parker and her brilliant witty, rude, political, poignant writing, with jazz as an integral part of the play.
The jazz will be played by the unusual combination of double bass (Graham Jones) and saxophone (guess who.)

Here’s a handy video link!

[youtube http://youtube.com/w/?v=YNaXyGcHER8][youtube http://youtube.com/w/?v=YNaXyGcHER8]’Heat’ is the first music video from ‘JetStream’ ‘Heat’ began life as an idea in 2004, and was then redeveloped for this project. The music takes influence from African and equatorial music and rhythms, with the strident marimbas, the guitar and higher bass parts imitating mosquitos, creating an intense rhythmic feel punctuated by short pauses.
