Steve’s gigs R

Hi FriendsWe have a few more performances of the excellent play on the life and writing of Dorothy Parker. It’s called “You might as well live,” written by David Frederickson of Cotton Grass Theatre. Sue Daniels plays the role of Dorothy Parker and I together with Matt Ratcliffe on keyboard and Graham Jones on double bass play jazz from the era as an integral part of the play. It’s funny, serious, rude and brilliantly acted. The music’s not bad too.

These are the dates and venues for “You might as well live”
Please see http://www.cottongrasstheatre.co.uk for details and booking information.
June 17th Green Man Gallery, Buxton
June 19,20,21 Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford – it was a sellout when we performed for three nights last summer so they booked us for three more nights.
June 26th Lytham St Annes

Jazz at The Druid in Birchover continues:
Thursday June 12th 8pm – me with Pete Moxley on piano and Pat Sprakes on double bass. Excellent food and drinks. Do reserve if you want a meal. 01629 653836

Tuesday 1 July 6-8pm. Jazz and art in Winster Church.
Jacquie organises the annual Winster Art Exhibition and I with Graham Jones on double bass and Pete Moxley provide the jazz. Have a glass of wine and enjoy the art and the wonderful acoustics and atmosphere of the church. Always a popular evening.

Saturday July 19th and Sunday July 20th 2-5 pm – Winster Secret Gardens.
This very enjoyable annual event with jazz in one of the gardens. Me with Wendy Kirkland on piano, Pat Sprakes on bass and Clive Loveday on drums. See the gardens, have delicious cakes, ice creams and teas and hear the jazz.

Hope to see you at some of this.
All the best
Steve
